Personal Platform and Vision
This is the condensed version... please write or call or stop by if you would have questions or suggestions. In my first two terms I had regular hours at local restaurants where I would be if any citizen would desire to share their concerns or ideas. I will do that again. People concerns are my business
- Economic Growth—I-69 and I-70 provide never experienced opportunities and challenges
- Education We have an excellent public and private K-12 and beyond educational system here in the county. As poet Maya Angelo said, “When you know better, you do better.” I would encourage more availabilty for post high school education centers such as an additional IVY Tech campus.
- Wellness and Health Opportunities for enhancing our health both physically and mentally abound for all age groups. Enhancing those opportunities are goals to achieve. Quality of life is not only a benefit to our residents, but it is one of the primary drivers of new business development thus improving our taxbase. It is a win-win upward spiral.
The challenge of course is to provide the best we can with the resources we possess. Growing up here in Morgan county, the lessons of 4-H and Boy Scouting remain the guiding lights on my life’s path. In Scouting took an oath to “Do my Best… to Obey the Scout Law.” In 4-H and my introduction to everything from bugs and trees to Pinky my pig, There I learned the 4-H motto -- “To Make the Best Better. That I will do. I will also listen to your input. Your support is ever valued.
